2009 is the centenary of The Penylan Club, and was celebrated in style with a week of special activities in June.

In its Centenary year, Penylan Bowls Club has won both PG1 and PG2 titles.

Matthew Evans and David Axon won the W.B.A. National Pairs title at the end of August, and the shield is proudly on display in the trophy gallery at Penylan.

The Penylan Festival 2009 was won by Wayne Philips (singles) and Gavin Fielding and Huw Morris (pairs).  Pictures here

Penylan's Centenary Year 2009 was brought to a successful conclusion with a mixed triples competition over the final two weekends of the season.
The final went right to the wire with a tie at the end of three sets, and was settled by a one end sudden death decider. Both the competitors and the spectators then enjoyed a barbecue in the glorious end of summer weather. Pictures here
